Rogue's special touch won't be felt anytime soon.

Anna Paquin's appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past has been cut from the final version of the film, Entertainment Weeklyreports.

The upcoming X-Men film combines the casts of the original X-Mentrilogy with that of First Class. Paquin was initially slated to appear in a rescue sequence that involved her character Rogue, Magneto (Ian McKellen), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Iceman (Shawn Ashmore).

"Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous," director Bryan Singer told the magazine. "It's a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she's in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won't appear in it."

The True Bloodstar only filmed for a week, but previously told TVGuide.com that she was having a lot of fun. "My scripts... came with a letter attached to it saying that when I'm not reading it, I had to lock it up in a safe and give it back when I was done with it," Paquin said. "I had a really great time, but that's about as much as I'm allowed to say. It was nice to see my old friends."

X-Men: Days of Future Past will be released on May 23, 2014. Are you sad Rogue won't appear in the film?
