Just months after stepping down from his showrunner duties on True Blood, Alan Ball is getting to debut his new Cinemax series Banshee.
The action series, also executive-produced by House vet Greg Yaitanes, will premiere on Friday, Jan. 11 at 10/9c on Cinemax, the pay cable network announced Thursday.

Banshee stars Rush's Antony Starr as an ex-con and master thief named Lucas Hood who takes on the identity of the sheriff in the town of Banshee, Pa. Lucas continues his criminal activities there despite his being hunted by gangsters he backstabbed years before. Ivana Milicevic (Psych), Ulrich Thomsen (Fringe's Zeppelin Man), The Wire's Frankie Faison, Rus Blackwell (Magic City), Lights Out's Ryann Shane and Star Trek's Ben Cross round out the cast.
Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, who wrote the project, will also executive-produce along with Peter Macdissi, Ball and Yaitanes.
