ABC Renews Once, Castle and More; Cancels Forever, Cristela

ABC announced Thursday that it's bringing back 22 of its series for the fall, and one of them is something to sing about!

Of the veteran dramas, the network renewedOnce Upon a Time for a fifth season,Grey's Anatomy (Season 12), Scandal (Season 5), Castle (Season 8), Nashville (Season 4), Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 3), and comedies The Goldbergs(Season 3) , Modern Family (Season 7) andThe Middle (Season 7).

Among its scripted new series, ABC decided to bring back the following for second seasons: How to Get Away with Murder, Marvel's Agent Carter, American Crime, Secrets and Lies, and comedies Black-ish, Fresh Off the Boat and musical series Galavant.

Fall TV Scorecard: What's canceled? What's renewed?

In its reality and news programming, ABC renewed The Bachelor,Dancing with the Stars,Shark Tank, its spin-off Beyond the Tank, America's Funniest Home Videos and 20/20.

Sadly, freshman series Forever felt the ax of cancellation. The Ioan Gruffudd-starring fantasy drama averaged around 7.9 million viewers. The actor's wife tweeted out the sad news:


Also canceled after its first year was the comedy Cristela, which averaged 6.1 million viewers, sophomore thriller Resurrection (6.9 million) and the reality cooking competition series The Taste, which only averaged 3.1 million viewers in its third season.
