ABC Pulls Ad From PerezHilton.com Over Miley Cyrus Upskirt Photo

Perez Hilton's upskirt photo of Miley Cyrus on his Twitter feed has cost him an advertiser: ABC has pulled ads for The View from the blogger's website, a show rep tells TV Guide.com.

A rotating banner ad promoting The View was pulled from PerezHilton.com on Wednesday.

"It's not a matter of whether you like [Perez Hilton] or not, it has to do with the morality of the issue. Miley is a minor, period. There are ethics involved in running an ad on a site that potentially violated the rights of a minor, and that is what the conversation is about at the network level," an ABC source told MSNBC.

"I find it odd that an advertiser would choose to pull an ad off my site because the photo in question, which was not pornographic and showed a fully clothed Miley Cyrus, was not posted on my website or even linked from my site," Hilton said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. "I look forward to addressing this and all of the inaccuracies about me being perpetuated when I appear on Joy Behar's HLN show [Thursday night]."

One company with ads on the site, Capital One, said in a statement to TVGuide.com that it makes "every effort to ensure that our ads are not associated with websites that do not meet our strict standards" and adds that it is "working with our advertising partners to review our current placement schedule."
Early Monday morning, Hilton's feed included a link to an up-the-skirt shot of the 17-year-old singer exiting a convertible. Along with the photo link, Hilton wrote, "If you are easily offended, do NOT click here...Oh, Miley! Warning: truly not for the easily offended!"

Hilton issued a video statement Monday, saying, "Do you think I'm stupid enough to post a photo of Miley if she's not wearing any underwear down there? No! Sure I like to seem controversial, but I don't want to go to jail."
Because Cyrus is a minor, the photo could expose Hilton (real name: Mario Lavandeira) to child porn charges. As of Monday afternoon, no legal action had been taken against Hilton, Los Angeles police and prosecutors told TVGuide.com.
Calls and emails to prosecutors and several other companies whose ads appear on Hilton's site — including The New York Times, Starbucks and Netflix — were not immediately returned Thursday.
