ABC is getting into more chit chat with a green light for Alec Baldwin's talk show.

Sundays with Alec Baldwin will be a new one-hour series where the famous actor will conduct one-on-one interviews with "the most interesting people in pop culture," ABC announced on Tuesday. The series will be loosely based on Baldwin's WNYC podcast that he's been doing for years.

"I'm excited about this show and grateful to ABC for taking a chance on me in what is, admittedly, a crowded field," said Baldwin in a statement. "I've enjoyed doing my podcast for WNYC and look forward to the challenge of doing a show on camera."

Fans will get a sneak peek of what Baldwin's new series will be right after the Oscars on Sunday, March 4. His first guests will be legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld and Saturday Night Live MVP Kate McKinnon.

The talk-show announcement comes after Baldwin backed out of starring in the family comedy he was developing with black-ish creator Kenya Barris. Baldwin is still a producer on that project, which has moved to NBC with a pilot order but awaits word if it will move to series. Baldwin is also the host of ABC's game show Match Game, which airs in the summer.

Sundays with Alec Baldwin will air a special sneak peek Sunday, March 4 at 11:35/10:35c on ABC after the 90th Oscars hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
