ABC Family's TV family is getting bigger.

The cable network has ordered two new dramas to premiere this summer.

From executive producer Jennifer Lopez comes The Fosters, an hourlong drama about a multi-ethnic family consisting of a mix of foster and biological children being raised by two moms. Fly Girls' Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige created the series, starring Meet the Parents' Teri Polo, Sherri Saum (Rescue Me), Wizards of Waverly Place's Jake T. Austin and Cierra Ramirez (The Secret Life of the American Teenager). Make It or Break It's Joanna Johnson will also executive-produce with Simon Fields, Greg Gugliotta and Lopez's manager, Benny Medina.

2013 bubble shows: Which will survive?

Twisted, formerly Socio, is a mystery about a charismatic 16-yearold with a troubled past who recently reconnected with his two female best friends from childhood. He becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation when a fellow student is shockingly found dead in his home. Denise Richards, Gossip Girl's Sam Robards and Victorious' Avan Jogia will star in the project, written by Greek's Adam Milch. Milch will executive-produce with Gilmore Girls' Gavin Polone and David Babcock.

"ABC Family is synonymous with groundbreaking storytelling and iconic characters," ABC Family President Michael Riley said in a statement. "These new shows will bring the same depth, heart, close relationships and authenticity that our viewers have come to expect and, will pair nicely with our already established pop culture hits."

Production on both new series starts this spring, and more pick-ups are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
