Jack Is Back! Watch the First Promo for 24: Live Another Day

Jack Bauer is back and more explosive than ever. As part of Fox's Super Bowl ads Sunday, the network debuted the first full-length promo for its upcoming 12-episode limited series 24: Live Another Day. The teaser features Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) carrying a very goth-looking Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) in a fiery London street, culminating with Jack shooting at someone off in the distance. Premiering Monday, May 5 with a two-hour opener, 24: Live Another Day will pick up four years later with Jack as we left him in the series finale: a fugitive. Chloe is now a radical Edward Snowden-type working against the government leading to an antagonistic dynamic between the one-time allies.

24: Live Another Day is "very different" from film idea, pits Jack vs. Chloe

Live Another Day also stars Dexter and Chuck alum Yvonne Strahovski, who will play Kate Morgan, a CIA agent on the hunt for Jack in London. "In [the CIA's] minds, Jack is not quite Osama bin Laden, but is a fugitive to be captured," executive producer Manny Coto told reporters at Fox's Television Critics Association winter previews last month. "When Jack re-enters the picture on his own terms, we will learn that he has a mission, whether that's a good mission or a dark mission ... we don't know, but the CIA is determined to catch him."

Fox sets premieres for 24: Live Another Day, Gang Related, Surviving Jack

The limited series will also stick to the show's original format, covering 24 hours in real time, but it will skip several hours to accommodate the shorter episode order. "I hope we'll maintain the quality we had [with] 24 [episodes], but it was a marathon," executive producer Howard Gordonsaid last month. "It was punishing. ... With 24 [episodes], you could never see the other side of the shore. Here, we can imagine the other side."
