In news that should come as no surprise to anyone who knows anything about Jack Bauer or Cookie Lyon, Fox announced Wednesday that it has given series orders to pilots 24: Legacy and Star. Both shows will premiere in Fall 2016.

24: Legacy is a reboot of Fox's Kiefer Sutherland-starring early-'00s hit. It stars The Walking Dead and Straight Outta Compton's Corey Hawkins in the Jack Bauer-esque role as Eric Carter, a former Army Ranger who must rush to stop a terrorist attack on American soil. It will co-star Lord of the Rings' Miranda Otto and NYPD Blue's Jimmy Smits.

Star is another musical drama from the creator and network behind Empire. The Lee Daniels-executive-produced series follows a girl group from Atlanta as they try to make it big in the music industry. It will co-star Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt and include original music.
