Originally wanted to be a Baptist minister.
Attended a bible college, but was asked to leave because he was performing at local bars.
Had two solo hits: "It's Written All Over Your Face" (1983) and "She Put the Sad in All His Songs (1984).
Joined Kix Brooks in 1990 to form Brooks & Dunn.
Designed shirts for the Panhandle Slim clothing line.
Along with musical partner Kix Brooks and author Bill Fitzhugh, Dunn co-wrote a book titled
The Adventures of Slim & Howdy
