Private Practice Preview: Will Addison Succumb to a Married Man?

This Thursday at 10 pm/ET, ABC's Private Practice returns with the penultimate episode of its second season. Will Addison act on her urges with the married Noah? As his wife endures a difficult pregnancy? Josh Hopkins shared a look at the torrid twists ahead. Plus: What does he not miss about his Swingtown days?

TVGuide.com: Call me old fashioned, but I'm not really feeling the romance here in the Addison-Noah story. So sell me on it. Should I be rooting for this illicit hook-up?
Josh Hopkins: I don't know that you should be rooting for it or not, but it makes for interesting TV. It's just such a real-life situation where someone has the very best intentions, but ...  read full article

It's Grant Showtime on Private Practice ... and Melrose 2.0?

This week on ABC's Private Practice (Wednesdays at 9 pm/ET), Addison feels the brotherly love when Grant Show begins a stint as her studly sib. In this TVGuide.com Q&A, Show previews Archer Montgomery's first Oceanside Wellness hook-up, ponders why Swingtown couldn't keep it up, and reveals whether Jake Hanson might turn up on the CW's "new" Melrose Place.

TVGuide.com: What brings about this surprise visit from Archer?
Grant Show: I come into town because I miss Addison. When she was living in New York we were real tight, so I try to get her to come back to New York with me. In the meantime, I start a little somethin'-somethin' with Naomi — just to piss off my sister, I think! [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: What is the dynamic between Addison and Archer?
Show: I don't know if you've ever hung out with rich siblings, but they have very strange relationships. Almost incestuous ... read more

One of the nicer surprises ...

Question: One of the nicer surprises over the summer was Swingtown on CBS. I know you weren't a huge fan of the show, and I agree with you that the series wasn't Emmy-caliber, but as a distraction from all of the Wipeouts, Japanese Games Shows and Greatest American Dogs, Swingtown did succeed in providing me with some kitschy, retro drama moments that fulfilled what TV sometimes means to do: entertain. I just got (prematurely) excited when I saw that Bravo had picked up Swingtown. Unfortunately, it was for the rebroadcasting of the original 13 episodes already shown on CBS. My questions are these: Has CBS officially canceled Swingtown? Will Bravo be producing any new episodes? And if the answers to the first two questions are a "yes" and a "no," are the actors/crew still under contract to return to the series should Showtime pick it up? Answer: The answer, to my knowledge, is a "no" and a "no." At the moment, the fate of Swingtown has not yet been determined, either on CBS or Showtime ... read more

Swingtown Swinging to Bravo

Swingtown has a new town network to call home — sort of.Bravo has secured cable syndication rights to the critically acclaimed 13-episode drama. The CBS series, which chronicles partner-swapping couples in the sexually liberated 1970s, aired to modest ratings over the summer. The Eye has remained mum over the show's future, but the future's not looking bright as the deal is a "straight acquisition," a source tells THR, meaning Bravo, or any network, will not produce new eps.Bravo will begin airing Swingtown in the fall, along with Law & Order: Criminal Intent and The West Wing. — Joyce Eng read more
