Jennifer "Jenn" Lyon, a finalist on Survivor: Palau, died Tuesday after her battle with cancer, CBS said. Lyon was 37.
"Jenn died at home in Oregon at 11:19 p.m. on Jan. 19. She had been battling breast cancer for the last five plus years," Survivor: Vanautu and Survivor: Micronesia Fans vs. Favorite cast member Eliza Orlins told TVGuide.com. Survivor could be coming to a stage near you. In a new deal, AEG Live will be bringing some of creator Mark Burnett's productions for TV to arena stages, potentially adapting anything from The Donald's Apprentice proclamations to island-style challenges.AEG has already brought the likes of Hannah Montana, American Idol and other shows to the stage, so the Burnett brand is a smart next move. For his part, the reality godfather said, "We have always believed that the next logical stage of development for many of our most popular television reality programs would be live-action events."I'm still trying to picture how rope-swinging challenges, firings and other types of "reality" events will go down on the stage (although the Roman gladiators come to mind) any ideas? No specific shows have been decided on for the arena versions, says the Reporter, leaving the playing field wide open to interpretation. Anna Dimond

Sitting at home in our comfy chairs, feet up, remote in hand, maybe a snack and a beverage nearby we fans of Survivor are apt to forget how brutal this game can be. Even as we watch castaways plot and scheme and ultimately stab each other in the back its all good fun for us. But this season Im seeing a real human element in the game that maybe I had glossed over before. Kathys mental collapse evoked sympathy from me (though many a reader felt that she needed to suck it up). Players bowed out of the game due to injury. Tribe members fell in love and in lust all against the framework of a million-dollar payoff. That million dollars, however, is the problem. People will do just about anything to be the last one standing in Survivor and so tonight as I lounged in my sofa, watching a tearful players plea for acceptance, my emotional and rational selves were at war. There I was, an armchair member of Malakal at Tribal Council trying to decide who and what to tru...

Its always a sad day on Survivor when a player gets taken out of the game due to circumstances beyond their control. Today was especially sad for this reviewer since Jonathan Penner was a particular favorite. Always interesting, always entertaining Jonathan played the game with such enthusiasm that he energized his whole team. He gave it his all yet never lost sight of the fact that in the end it was just game. So, it just sucks that last weeks infernal game of prison-escapee tag the same one that left others battered and bruised resulted in this season losing one of its best players due to a potentially life-threatening infection. Jonathans teary farewell group hug, Kathy sobbing, we need you! I need you! had me misty-eyed myself. Now James is left on a tribe of women and one longhaired guy and hes feeling a little vulnerable as he should. Lets face it James is not the most strategic player Survivors ever...
