Grammy Awards
8/7c CBS
Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are poised to take home a lot of hardware tonight as they lead all artists with 10 and eight nominations, respectively. The ladies also perform, along with fellow Album of the Year nominees the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and the Dave Matthews Band. In addition, Bon Jovi, Green Day, Lady Antebellum, Maxwell, Pink and Zac Brown Band will also take the stage. But perhaps the most anticipated moment is the Michael Jackson tribute, which features the 3-D mini-movie "Earth Song" and will be enhanced by performers Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood and Usher.

Conan O'Brien Says Goodbye to Tonight Show

Conan O'Brien ended his brief run as host of The Tonight Show with thanks to his fans and even the network that is replacing him a mere seven months into his dream job.

"Yes, we have our differences right now and yes, we're going to go our separate ways," O'Brien said of NBC, his employer of 17 years. "But this company has been my home for most of my adult life. I am enormously proud of the work we have done together, and I want to thank NBC for making it all possible."

Conan's last words as Tonight Show host

O'Brien, who had announced just 10 days earlier that he would rather leave The Tonight Show than accept a move to after midnight to accommodate Jay Leno's return to the 11:35 slot, said... read more

The Simpsons' Executive Producer Al Jean Looks Back at 20 Years in Springfield

After 20 years and nearly 450 episodes, The Simpsons received a surprising distinction: an endorsement from the Vatican.

"I called my father — whose been going to Catholic Mass for 70 years — and I said, 'So it turns out I've been doing God's work all this time,'" laughs longtime executive producer Al Jean. (The official Vatican newspaper praised the show last month for its "realistic and intelligent writing.")

Even without the Roman Catholic Church's approval, the series has thrived. Playing in more than 90 countries, the longest-running prime-time scripted series will simultaneously celebrate its 20th anniversary and 450th episode Sunday. The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special: In 3D! On Ice!, airing Sunday at 8:30/7:30c, will look back at both the show's humble origins and worldwide impact.

TVGuide.com talked with Jean — the series' current showrunner and a writer since Season 1 — about the show's anniversary, his favorite characters and guest stars.

Premise: Matt Groening's subversive, animated satire about Springfield's hapless first family stumbling through life became a cult favorite soon after premiering on Fox in 1989. Not since `The Flintstones' in the '60s has a cartoon series drawn such a large adult audience, and, ay caramba, given us pop-culture expressions for the ages. `The Simpsons' was originally seen in 1987 as a short on `The Tracey Ullman Show.' It has since become television's longest-running comedy and has received 18 Emmys.
