Princesses, pop stars and superheroes will be among the many Disney favorites taking over the Anaheim Convention Center on August 9—11 for the biennial D23 Expo. The celebration of all things Disney will include the stars and creators of several popular shows from the Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior.
Among the big Disney Channel events being showcased are Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel, a summer special in which the boys meet the superheroes of (Disney-owned) Marvel Comics; Teen Beach Movie, a live-action musical airing July 19; and Wander Over Yonder, the upcoming animated series from The Powerpuff Girls creator Craig McCracken and starring 30 Rock alum Jack McBrayer (both of whom will be in attendance).

Move over, Macarena. Disney Channel is hoping to start a new dance craze timed to "Platypus Day," a holiday created by the cable network to celebrate Perry the Platypus, the teal-colored, duck-billed secret agent from Phineas and Ferb.
This year's Platypus Day, which takes place on Saturday, March 3, will feature the introduction of "The Platypus Walk," a surf-rock tune that comes with an accompanying dance choreographed by Rosero McCoy (Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam). The song will debut today on Radio Disney, and Disney Channel's website will include a tutorial to the dance.
