The Joy of Sets: What Do YOU Want to See on DVD?

With this week’s long-awaited release of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles’ third and final set (which is completely excellent, by the way), I couldn’t help but mourn the shows that haven’t been so lucky. You know, the ones that have yet to make it on to the market. And since the last time I ran down the sets of my dreams, both Fastlane and Birds of Prey have been announced, so why not throw a few more titles out there to see if the DVD gods are listening.Falcon Crest — Come on! Dallas, Dynasty and Knots Landing are out there, why not this juicy lil’ vineyard sudser? Not only did it have one of the best theme songs, but there have been few leading bitches as regal as Jane Wyman’s Angela Channing. Plus, Lorenzo Lamas’ playboy himbo was named Lance Cumson. You can not beat that! If you want to have some real fun, YouTube the show and check out the opening-credits compilation videos. April 19, 2007: Time After Time

After a four-week wait, I was totally psyched to finally see a new episode of Grey's. I woke up in such a good mood Thursday morning since I was finally able to put away my Pepto-Bismol the night before (like a lot of you, I’ve been suffering from a bad case of Sanjayarrhea). So I was not disappointed in this "past coming back to haunt you"-focused episode — especially how they handled the Izzie/George awkwardness (I'll get to that recent past situation in a bit). First things first: Welcome back to the show, Chandra Wilson! How nice for Bailey to come out of the background at last. Chandra is not an actress that should be wasted and utilized in only a few throwaway scenes as she'd been lately. I adored seeing Bailey be so comforting to and protective of Izzie. But let's get to Izzie. What a way for her to get her mind off the shunning George — the parents who adopted the child Izzie gave up when she was 16 tracked her down. I thought Izzie handled the shocking news th... read more

February 11, 2007: I Remember That

Three weeks ago (when the last new episode aired), I briefly whined: "When oh, when will we get to see Monique in flashbacks again?" So you know I was screaming with joy when I got my wish tonight! Not only did Monique (Kathleen York) reappear in a flashback, but we also got so many answers, as did Mike Delfino, all thanks to his hypnotherapist (Miriam Flynn). So Mike didn't kill Monique — Orson framed Mike by giving Mike his wrench back — the wrench that had Monique’s blood on it. Now we know why Mike's phone number was written on Monique's hand. We also know that Mike never dated Monique: "I'm flattered, but I'm seeing somebody." Monique: "Me, too, but he's married and I'm drunk." I do wonder what Orson told Bree when he "confessed" and told her "the truth." He said she was upset, but apparently not too upset, since she was still living with him before the ladder accident. As usual, we got some answers but were still left with further questions. Like, why would Glor... read more
