I knew we were in for a bumpy ride when All My Children started the year by murdering Dixie the show's heart and soul with a plate of poisoned pancakes. But hey, that meant more airtime for Zarf, a rude, suffocatingly hammy, penis-flashing transgender rock star who fell in love with Pine Valley's saintly lesbian Bianca. Appropriately, fans on the Internet named the couple "Barf." In a pathetic attempt to boost ratings, Days of our Lives pretended to kill its most popular male character, John, played by Drake Hogestyn. Even the cast was fooled. But with the Nielsens staying flat, Hogestyn is now back at work and we're left to wonder: How the hell can we ever invest in Days again?General Hospital viewers had a fit and threatened to stop watching when heartthrob Jax was held hostage and forced into sex by a loony Russian chick. Meanwhile, they didn't seem to mind when a Port Charles strangler killed three women.Things that made me cringe: Constantine Maroulis on The Bold ...

Friday night's prime-time encore of Bob Barker's final turn as The Price Is Right host handily won the 8 o'clock hour, drawing 8.42 million total viewers. In turn, CBS' broadcast of the Daytime (Entertainment) Emmy Awards came out on top from 9 to 11 pm, delivering 8.33 million viewers a 37 percent surge over last year's hour-longer telecast, and the awards' best numbers since 2004. Plus, we got to see utterly random folks pontificate YouTube-style about the acting chops of Tom Pelphrey and Michelle Stafford. Compelling stuff, that is.

Talk about your fabulous prizes. Bob Barker reaped his 19th Emmy for outstanding game-show host on Friday night, synching up precisely with his final appearance as the Price Is Right host. "This proves that the judges have sympathy for an old man who doesn't have a job," Barker quipped when accepting the award. Backstage, the TV icon confirmed that Rosie O'Donnell, despite the View alum's coldly received trade-mag campaign to get the gig, may still be in the running to come on down as the gamer's new host. "She knows the show!" Barker says of O'Donnell. "So far as doing it, there's no doubt in my mind that she could. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don't know. As far as I know, they've only auditioned men. Although I do believe they're going to have a meeting with Rosie." Sigh. Give a kiss goodbye to all the heterosexual sex talk during Plinko. The 34th-annual Daytime Emmys also saw Ellen DeGeneres once again best The View in the talk-show and talk-show-host contests. The kudos...

I did a photo shoot with Joshua Morrow (Nick) and Sharon Case (Sharon) the other day. It was really fun or at least Sharon and I had fun. Josh couldnt wait to get out of there. He had a softball game to go to, and taking pictures is not Joshs favorite thing to do. Here he had two hot babes draped over him and he still didnt like it.Sharon just got married, so shes in honeymoon bliss. Its very sweet to see. Me myself, Im alone, barren and lonely, ha ha ha. Thats completely a joke. Of course I'm not barren. The Daytime Emmys are next week. It will be very fun Im sure. It's always fun to see everybody. Im very much looking forward to the lead-actress luncheon on Thursday. And I picked the place and put together the event, since Susan Flannery (Stephanie, B&B) was egregiously not nominated this year although she will be coming to the luncheon. Unfortunately, Maura West (Carly, ATWT) cannot attend. Im very bumme...
