Soap Opera Vet Sean Kanan Nabbed for Second DUI

Not 24 hours after news of General Hospital starlet Kirsten Storms' own DUI arrest broke, TMZ is reporting that daytime-TV journeyman and onetime Karate Kid nemesis Sean Kanan was busted on August 18 by the LAPD, on suspicion of driving under the influence. Kanan, whose soap resume includes turns as The Bold and the Beautiful's Deacon Sharpe and GH's alcoholic A.J. Quartermaine, posted $30,000 bail after being charged with two counts, including driving with a blood alcohol level of .08-plus. Due back in court on Monday, he faces a max of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine, per count. This being Kanan's second DUI offense (the first came in '98), it carries a minimum jail stint of 96 hours.

A spokesperson for Kanan had no comment to TMZ.
