Dear Soaps,
Can you please let me know other than Port Charles and General Hospital what soaps Ron Hale has played in and his roles. — Desertbabe

Dear Desertbabe,
On GH, Mike is in desperate need of fast cash to pay off a hefty gambling debt, but this isn't the first time Hale's portrayed a character facing this very problem. As the villainous Dr. Roger Coleridge on the working class soap, Ryan's Hope, Hale's character stole $6500 to pay off his bad bets. Hale was a part of the original cast when the show premiered in July in 1975, and stayed on the show for its fourteen-year run. His magnetic performances earned him back-to-back Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Emmys for the 1978-79 and 1979-80 seasons. Before Ryan's Hope, Hale played another doctor, Dr. Jim Abbott, on Love Is a Many Spendored Thing. Hale only had the role for a few months before the show was cancelled in 1973. (DD)
