The seventh “inning” of Burns' 1994 series “Baseball” recalls the 1950s, when New York was “the capital of baseball.” Included: Giant Bobby Thompson's “Shot Heard Round the World” (Thompson's pennant-winning home run in the 1951 playoff against the Dodgers); Abbott and Costello's “Who's on First” routine; Casey Stengel and the New York Yankees dynasty; and Willie Mays. Also: the Dodgers and Giants move to California after the 1957 season. John Chancellor narrates.
