Season 31, Episode 15 Outlawed in Pakistan

First Aired: May 28, 2013

Pakistan's justice system and cultural taboos are examined through the story of a teenage girl who accuses four men of gang-raping her and then takes her case to court. To do so takes guts, as such claims can have major repercussions for the accuser, as rape victims are often deemed to have brought dishonor to themselves and their families. The documentary, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, also details the response of the accused men: a public campaign that brands her a liar.
