National Treasure proved slightly more cash absorbent than The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie at the weekend box office. Nicolas Cage's action-adventure debuted at No. 1 with $35.3 million, just barely edging out the talking yellow sponge, which soaked up $33.5 million for second place. After two weekends on top, Pixar's The Incredibles slipped to No. 3 with $26.8 million ($177.8 million), followed by The Polar Express (No. 4 with $15.2 million) and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (No. 5 with $10.1 million).
