Will she be able to do both?
Whoopi Goldberg has been cast in ABC's comedy pilot Delores & Jermaine, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The sitcom is based on the life of Jermaine Fowler, an unmotivated millennial comedian who moves in with his estranged grandmother Delores (Goldberg), a football-loving former cop-turned-shut-in, who, after living with Jermaine, ends up leaving the house.
If Delores & Jermaine is picked up, Goldberg's role is not expected to affect her co-hosting duties on The View.
The casting marks Goldberg's first full-time return to scripted TV after a decade absence. Her last series regular role was on NBC's Whoopi, which ended in 2004. Since then, she's appeared on Glee, Once Upon a Time and 30 Rock.
