Who Is America? Bamboozled Sheriff Joe Arpaio Into Saying Something Obscene

Sacha Baron Cohen's Who Is America? was back for another episode of making America's worst people look stupid Sunday night, and this week's target was Joe Arpaio, current Senate candidate and former sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona, who was known as "America's Toughest Sheriff" for his inhumane prisons he described as "concentration camps" and his brutal anti-immigrant conduct. He was convicted of contempt of court after he refused to stop racially profiling people, but President Trump pardoned him. He's an openly awful person, and SBC made him look foolish.

In the interview, Baron Cohen introduced a new character, a hyperactive Finnish YouTuber named OMGWhizzBoyOMG, who unboxes toys while Arpaio looks on, confused. The incongruity of the childlike character and the toadlike old man seems like the whole joke at first, but then Arpaio finds some common ground with OMGWhizzBoyOMG when the YouTuber reveals he has 43 guns and is preparing for the "upcoming race war." Arpaio tells him that if Trump saw this interview, he'd like WhizzBoy, because WhizzBoy has similar ideas about the Second Amendment.

WhizzBoy asks Arpaio -- who has no idea what's going on -- about "golden showers" and if he'd accept a "blow job" from Donald Trump, and Arpaio says yes. Alrighty then!

Arpaio's campaign released a statement in response to getting "pranked by Borat" that laughed it off: "We're not mad about it, it's comedy." It confirms that Arpaio had no idea what Baron Cohen was saying and could barely understand him. Joe Arpaio is a bad person, but this is the best response any politician has had to Who Is America? No Sarah Palin meltdowns for Sheriff Joe.

Who Is America? airs Sundays at 10/9c on Showtime.
