Their X-Files revival may still be months away, but David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson treated fans to a special treat Tuesday night.

While performing songs from his new album "Hell or Highwater" at The Cutting Room in New York, Duchovny was joined onstage by Anderson, who stopped for a quick kiss on her way to the mic.

"Can we play some real music, please?" Anderson asked.

After singing and dancing a cover of Neil Young's "Helpless," the two shared another kiss before Anderson left the stage. Anderson, along with Duchovny's former Californication daughter Madeline Martin, joined him again later, with Anderson rocking the tambourine.

Perhaps Scully was proving something to Mulder? In a recent interview with Esquire, Duchovny mentioned putting together an X-Files band. "I don't know if Gillian plays an instrument, I've never seen her play an instrument. I'm sure she can shake a tambourine if she wants to and sing with me."
