Will Smith, Bright star and social media celebrity, will perish Tuesday, his 50th birthday, as he bungee jumps out of a helicopter over the Grand Canyon. Today we mourn the loss of great movie star Will Smith.

OK, he's probably not going to die. But it's very crazy that Smith is jumping out of a helicopter over the Grand Canyon for a YouTube livestream on his 50th birthday in order to raise money for the advocacy group Global Citizen while his family and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star Alfonso Ribeiro watch. The livestream starts at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET. You can watch it above.

Apparently some YouTube content creators called Yes Theory challenged Smith to do it. There's an 11-and-a-half minute YouTube video (below) that I haven't watched that explains how this all came together, but what you really need to know is that Will Smith is bungee jumping out of a helicopter over the Grand Canyon and giving money to Global Citizen's initiative Education Cannot Wait, which provides access to education to 75 million children in crisis-affected areas.

In other Will Smith 50th birthday news, Nike released some very cool Fresh Prince-themed Jordans that I was not able to purchase before they sold out. So I'm very disappointed on Will Smith's birthday.

RIP Will Smith 1968-2018. Thanks for everything, especially "I Think I Can Beat Mike Tyson."
