The Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal has found his next mission.

Bernthal will join Netflix's Daredevil's second season as The Punisher, one of Marvel's most popular characters, reports.

Also known as Frank Castle, the character was a well-decorated Marine who saw his wife and children killed during a Central Park picnic after inadvertently witnessing a gangland execution. With a corrupt police force unable to deliver justice, he assumes the persona of The Punisher, a vigilante aiming to clean up Hell's Kitchen by any means necessary.

Benthal joins a long line of actors who have portrayed the uber-violent antihero, including Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson. Bernthal's casting seems particularly fitting. Both on The Walking Dead and Mob City he played police officers who are caught in sticky circumstances and must make their own, sometime unpopular, judgment calls on right and wrong.

How will our Daredevil handle having a fellow vigilante — one who may not follow the same set of rules? What do you think of Bernthal's casting? Sound off in the comments.

Daredevil Season 2 will stream sometime in 2016 on Netflix.
