Groot Lives On! Vin Diesel Is Returning for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
We wanted him back and we got our wish!
While answering questions from fans on Facebook, Guardians of the Galaxy directorJames Gunn confirmed that Vin Diesel will be back for the movie's sequel, so it looks like dancing baby Groot has some growing up to do.
When we last saw our favorite anthropomorphic space tree, he was starting over as a sprout in a pot after sacrificing himself to save the Guardians - and was seriously enjoying some Michael Jackson tunes.

As a funny side note, the question was first posed as, "Will Vin Diesel be back in GOTG3[?]" before the commentor corrected himself and clarified he meant Vol. 2. Gunn quickly jumped in to quash rumors about what the wording may have implied. "Believe me I have to be careful because it will be picked up as my confirming 3," he posted.
Excited for Groot's return? Well, get comfortable because you've got a while to wait. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 won't arrive in theaters until May 5, 2017.
