Vikings Mega Buzz: Why Lagertha Will "Never Be the Same"

The last time we saw Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) on Vikings, she was in complete shock after losing the battle for Kattegatt to Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen). And fans shouldn't expect to see Lagertha bounce back from this loss right away... if ever.

"She's a changed woman now," Winnick tells TV Guide. "Lagertha is definitely a different person at the end of [the midseason finale]. After everything she went through, it's a huge shock for her and physically, she will never be the same, as well as mentally and spiritually."

Lagertha has always been a survivor though, so despite Lagertha never truly being able to go back to the shieldmaiden she was before, we can't imagine she'll ever stop fighting for what's hers -- and what's best for her people. Or at least that's what we hope.

The second half of Vikings Season 5 premieres on History later this year.
