They say it's lonely at the top, but in the case of Vikings it's lonely, bloody and wreaks of paranoia and betrayal.

History dropped the trailer for the second half of Season 5 during their panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday and as usual things are intense in Kattegat. Ivar (Alex Hogh Andersen) is enjoying his time on the throne with fire ceremonies and bloodshed, but the good feelings don't last for long even if he claims "it is a time to rejoice."

Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) and Lagertha (Kathryn Winnick) have found refuge with King Alfred (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo), but the main object for Bjorn and Ubbe at least is to seek revenge against the brother that cast them out of their home. It seems like an impossible task at first, but the trailer revealed that Ivar's last remaining ally, Hvitserk (Marco Islo), will finally turn against Ivar and rejoin Bjorn and Ubbe on the other side of the civil war. Maybe if Ivar stopped threatening to kill him every five minutes, things could have turned out differently.

Perhaps Rollo (Clive Standen) has come to help his nephew before the entire family kills each other? Ragnar's brother (Travis Fimmel) is definitely back in Kattegat but fans still don't know why he has returned at this point of civil war. The only answer he gives in the trailer is that he "missed the old place" -- which sounds like he might want to get his hands dirty.

It's going to be a bloody descent into darkness for the second half of Season 5. Are you ready to do this?

Vikings returns Nov. 28 on History.
