Valerie Harper was hospitalized Wednesday in Maine shortly before a stage performance.

Harper was taken to the hospital because she wasn't feeling well before that night's performance of Nice Work if You Can Get It, in which she's currently starring at the Ogunquit Playhouse. She was "feeling better" and "resting comfortably" on Thursday, but remained in the hospital for observation, Bradford T. Kenney, the playhouse's executive artistic director, said in a statement.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Harper, 75, was found unconscious, and Kenney told the night's audience that the actress was sick and would not be performing.

The Mary Tyler Moore alum has battled brain cancer and lung cancer. In 2013, she said that her brain cancer, which had been described as terminal, was nearly in remission. Later that year, she was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Harper is scheduled to play Millicent Winter in Nice Work if You Can Get It through Aug. 15.
