In what may be the final nail in UPN's coffin, News Corp. outbid Viacom for ownership of Chris-Craft Industries, Inc. and its 10 UPN-affiliated stations, Variety reports. The potential loss of these stations (in cities such as New York and Los Angeles) could cripple the network, home of WWF Smackdown. News Corp., which owns Fox, is expected to make a decision whether or not to drop UPN's affiliation from the stations early next year.
