HBO has released the first teaser for the highly anticipated second season of True Detective, which will premiere on June 21. What does it tell us?
Well ... not much.
The dialogue-free, minute-long clip gives us a sense of the main characters (including Colin Farrell's intimidating sidekick - his mustache), and little else.
But here's what we do know about Season 2: A bizarre murder in California brings together three law enforcement officers - Detective Ray Velcoro (Farrell), Sheriff's Detective Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams), and war veteran/motorcycle cop Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) - as well as career criminal Frank Semyon (Vince Vaughn).
After Woodrugh discovers the crime scene, they launch an investigation that involves three law enforcement groups and other figures in California's criminal underbelly (not to mention billions of dollars, and an orgy).
Kelly Reilly also stars as Vaughn's wife, who often struggles to reconcile her and her husband's choices with her own values.
