It's been a long time, but Kevin Bacon will once again take on the role of handyman Valentine McKee he originated in the 1990 monster movie Tremors.

Bacon has signed on to star in and executive-produce a TV series reboot of the long-running movie franchise. It marks his first appearance in the series since the original movie, which was followed by four straight-to-video sequels (the most recent, Tremors 5: Bloodlines, was released in October 2015) and a 2003 TV series.

The in-development project is not currently attached to a network.

The Following series finale: did Ryan Hardy survive?

If it pans out, Tremors will be Bacon's first return to TV since The Following's cancellation. It also marks his return to the franchise he called a low point of his career in 2013.
