John Travolta and Kelly Preston have returned to Florida with the ashes of their 16-year-old son, Jett, who died during a family vacation in the Bahamas.
The couple, along with daughter Ella, 8, arrived in Ocala, Fla., where they have a home, Monday night with an urn containing Jett's remains, family friend and Bahamas parliament member, Obie Wilchcombe, told The Associated Press.
"Everything was in place, the cremation was completed, and they decided to leave," Wilchcombe said.
Funeral plans have not been announced.
Jett died Friday in the bathroom of the family's vacation home. The Royal Bahamas Police Department said Jett, who had a history of seizures, had likely hit his head on the bathtub.
Authorities completed an autopsy Monday but did not release the results. However, the death certificate cites "seizure" as the cause, according to a Bahamian funeral home worker.
In their first public statement on Sunday, Travolta and Preston thanked fans for their outpour of support, adding that they "will cherish the time we had with [Jett] for the rest of our lives."
