The Trailer for Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg's New Comedy Is Laugh-Out-Loud Hilarious

"Daddy's Home" plays on the natural rivalry between dads and stepdads.

Dads and stepdads are natural enemies. Sometimes blended families can make it work, but there's usually some tension between two men vying for the top paternal spot in their kids' lives. And that sort of tension is Hollywood comedy gold.

Just in time for Father's Day, the trailer for Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg's new comedy, Daddy's Home, is out, and it pits responsible-but-boring stepdad Brad (Ferrell) against bad-boy DILF Dusty for the role of No. 1 Father Figure.

The full trailer for Lifetime's A Deadly Adoption is campy perfection

When Dusty comes back into the picture, Brad's domestic bliss with wife Sarah (Linda Cardellini) and kiddies Megan and Dylan is interrupted. Like most upstanding guys, Brad tries to make nice with Dusty, but it quickly becomes clear that it's an all-out war to see who can win (read: buy) the affections of the kids faster.

Ferrell and Wahlberg last shared a screen in 2010's The Other Guys, a tepid comedy where they played cops with similar archetypes: Ferrell as the upright, by-the-book stickler, Wahlberg as the I-don't-play-by-the-rules partner. The whole "they're partners, but they're total opposites, but somehow they make it work" trope is a little overplayed, so it's refreshing to see them mixing it up with Daddy's Home.
