The best TV shows of 2014

Ragtime Gals' "Sexual Healing": Is this the least sexy version of "Sexual Healing" ever? Steve Carell takes lead on The Ragtime Gals' barbershop quartet version of the Marvin Gaye classic on The Tonight Show. Check it out here:

SNL's Ferguson sketch: How ironic that a sketch about the media not wanting to tackle difficult issues got "cut for time" on last week's Saturday Night Live. Fortunately, the sketch — starring Kenan Thompson and Cecily Strong as two morning show anchors who are trying to get through their typically lighthearted broadcast in the wake of the grand jury's decision in Ferguson -- was made available anyway.

Ricky Gervais lip flip: The always up-for-anything Ricky Gervais can't keep a straight face as he's playing a game of "Lip Flip" with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. (Confession: We can't either.)

Obama on Colbert: President Barack Obama stopped by The Colbert Report this week, and did a pretty spot-on impersonation of outgoing host Stephen Colbert. Too bad Larry Wilmore is already in line to take Colbert's spot behind the desk ...

SNL promos: Hobbit star Martin Freeman and Kate "A Bit Racist" McKinnon team up for the Saturday Night Live promos this week. What happens when she tries on The Ring?

Best performances of the year: It's that time of year again — time to rank all things pop culture. Check out some of the TVGuide.com staff's picks for best performances of the year here. What did we miss?

"Let It Go" Christmas lights: Frozen comes to life in the front yard of this home in Austin, Texas, where the Storms family used more than 25,000 lights to create a display that syncs up with the ubiquitous song "Let It Go." Kind of makes your all-white-lights Christmas tree look a little lame, huh? Or, um, tasteful.
