Top Gear's Richard Hammond and James May are reportedly turning down a £4 million offer - that's $6.1 million - from the BBC to continue hosting the car series, according toThe Mirror. Instead, the duo are reportedly planning to reunite with fired host Jeremy Clarkson for a new Netflix show.

A source claims the trio and Top Gear executive producer Andy Wilman are "very close" to signing the deal with Netflix, and have been in talks with several other outlets. However, Hammond and May are determined not to return to BBC without Clarkson.

"Flattering though it is to be offered huge sums, there'll be no going back. It wouldn't feel right and their heart wouldn't be in it," the source said. "They've always said they come as a team and that hasn't changed."

Clarkson was let go by the BBC in March following a history of troubling behavior, including a recent physical altercation with one of the show's producers.
