Mega Beasts
9/8c Discovery
This new series brings to life some of the most ferocious dinosaurs to roam the earth. Scientists piece together what these mysterious creatures looked like, how they behaved, and what they encountered. In tonight's episode, we'll get a look at the phorusrhacids — or terror birds — and their reign in South America.
King of the Hill
8/7c Fox
The Hills are heading for the hills after 13 seasons, maybe because "we have nothing to do," as Hank puts it in the first of tonight's two closing episodes. But Bobby has his hands full. First, three A-list girls are all over him, calling him things like "the cuteness" and "boo-boo bear." Is this too good to be true? Well, yes. Then we learn about something he's really good at: grading meat. He's even invited to join the meat-inspection team at Heimlich County Junior College. — Paul Droesch
True Blood
9/8c HBO
Laissez les bon temps rouler? Honestly, Maryann, letting the good times roll is great, but don't you think you've gone just a bit too far? For the few remaining Bon Temps denizens who haven't joined her circus of obsidian-eyed freaks — notably Sookie, Jason and Andy — the answer would be "yes." They'll likely be there when Maryann's ultimate sacrificial ceremony unfolds in tonight's second-season finale, but it looks like the town's fate may come down to Sam and some help from an unlikely source. — Joe Friedrich
2009 MTV Video Music Awards
9/8c MTV
The always controversial Russell Brand is back to host the annual party at Radio City Music Hall. Leading this year's nominee pack are Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, with nine nods each, followed by Britney Spears, who has seven. As always, there will be plenty of music. Jay-Z, Green Day, Taylor Swift and Pink are all tapped to take the stage. And in what's sure to be one of the most talked about moments of the night, Janet Jackson is slated to perform a special tribute to her brother Michael. Better have those tissues handy. — Karen Andzejewicz
There Goes the Neighborhood
9/8c CBS
The three remaining families participate in an epic water slide challenge, and the winning family is allowed to spend a day outside the wall. After one family is kicked out of the neighborhood, the final two families face off in the last neighborhood challenge — and the biggest challenge yet.
HGTV Design Star
10/9c HGTV
Eleven designers entered HGTV's popular competition, but only two have made it to tonight's final. Dan Vickery and Antonio Ballatore duke it out to win the title and the opportunity to host their own show on the network. But before the winner is crowned, the guys have a big challenge ahead of them when they're assigned a whole-house makeover for a deserving family. — Brie Hearn
Entourage
10:30/9:30c HBO
Although Vince's new security team came highly recommended by Ari, the guys start to lose their patience when their bodyguards show signs of incompetence on the lookout for an alleged stalker. The Chase posse's recent inconveniences, however, can't compare to the Job-like sufferings of Lloyd, who's forever mortgaging his future to pay his dues with Ari. But when a spat between his boss and Adam Davies over Zac Efron gets personal, will Lloyd take the path of least resistance to his dream job as an agent? — Joe Friedrich
