Here's the Daly news: Late-night talk maven Carson Daly rings in 2009 with a rockin', rappin', cork-poppin' year-end celebration from New York City. Slated performers in Daly's fifth annual special include rappers T.I. and Ludacris; music vet Elton John (via satellite); pop rocker Katy Perry; and indie band the Ting Tings. Amy Robach and Luke Russert — son of the late, admired newsman Tim Russert — provide reports from Times Square. Talkshow's Spike Feresten and Mark Thompson (Hole in the Wall) ring in 2009 with a variety of festivities from Las Vegas and check in with Times Square for the dropping of the ball. Musical performers in Vegas include David Cook, Daughtry, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Scott Weiland. Entourage Marathon

It's not quite the ball-drop in Times Square, but the New Year's Eve Entourage marathon has become something of a tradition. Tonight HBO presents the entire fifth season, which began with Vince hiding out in a tropical paradise to escape the scathing Medellin reviews. And while there was really nowhere to go but up, it ultimately took another retreat, this time to the boys' hometown of Queens, before Vince could get his out-of-control career back on track. — Joe Friedrich
