'Tis the season for spin-offs. At least that's the case on MTV, where The Hills playboy Brody Jenner is kicking off his search for a new member for his Hollywood entourage. Tonight nine male hopefuls from across the country converge at a bachelor pad in L.A., but they won't be lounging around with Lauren, Lo and Audrina just yet. First they'll have to prove their loyalty in a series of challenges that are more fitting for Jackass than The Hills. How bromantic! — Karen Andzejewicz

Momma's Boys

The single ladies might have thought having their every move watched by protective mommas was bad enough, but they haven't seen anything yet. When files containing personal information about the women's pasts surface, they learn they'll have to win the next challenge to keep their secrets safe. Naturally, the competition is fierce during the challenge, judged by celebrity chef Tyler Florence, as the gals must impress with their cooking skills...or else find themselves in hot water. — Brie Hearn

Ron Howard: 50 Years in Film

He was beloved as the freckled and adorable Opie on The Andy Griffith Show, fer garsh sakes! Then, he was clean-cut, '50s every-teen Richie Cunningham in Happy Days, where he found his thrill on Blueberry Hill. And now as an Oscar-winning producer-director, he's a cross between Frank Capra, Steven Spielberg and Alfred Hitchcock (although Hitch never took home a Best Director Oscar). He was born March, 1, 1954, and has been seen on screen since 1956. In this glowing documentary, he celebrates and recalls a wildly successful half-century in the entertainment business. — Ray Stackhouse

Le Cirque: A Table in Heaven

Reality shows about restaurants and what it takes to run them are all over the dial, but this 2008 documentary packs more drama in 75 minutes than all those wannabes could hope to invent in a whole season. Andrew Rossi's often moving, always entertaining cinematic feast chronicles the ups and downs of New York City's legendary Le Cirque as it prepares to reopen in 2006, and profiles patriarchal owner Sirio Maccioni's frequently contentious relationship with his three sons.
