Project Runway
9 pm/ET Bravo
Farewell, Jerell — and hello Fashion Week! In the wake of contestant Jerell Scott's elimination last week (his bridal gown was deemed "garish" by the judges), the last standing designers have emerged. Everything will be ironed out in tonight's Season 5 finale, as the final trio — Leanne Marshall, Kenley Collins and Korto Momolu — showcase their collections at the high-style promised land that is New York Fashion Week. One will rise as the ultimate sew-stopper and be declared the winner, scoring a cool $100,000 in the process. — Dean Maurer

The New Adventures of Old Christine
8 pm/ET CBS
Forget about snakes on a plane. What about snakes on a date? That's Christine's horror when she agrees to go out with a children's entertainer (the always hilarious Jeffrey Tambor) who specializes in reptile parties. So, why is Christine seeing him? So Ritchie will have a better chance of getting accepted into the man's club that studies reptiles. — Tim Holland

Pushing Daisies
8 pm/ET ABC
Taking a cue from Hamlet's plea to Ophelia to "get thee to a nunnery," Chuck, Emerson and Ned go undercover as Vatican investigators to probe a possible crime at a convent. (Of course, in Shakespeare's day, "nunnery" could also refer to a brothel, but let's stick to the purer sense here.) It seems that the demise of Olive's best friend at the convent is ruled a suicide, but she suspects this sister's death was the mother of all murders. — Joe Friedrich

Chocolate News
10:30 pm/ET Comedy Central
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report are by no means vanilla, but the network that has virtually cornered the satire market can now rightly say it's fair and balanced with this new series, which pokes fun at current affairs from an African-American perspective. The sketches in tonight's premiere are hit-and-miss, but if this weekly diet of parody includes more bits such as host David Alan Grier's portrayal of Maya Angelou, who's composing poems for the inauguration of the next president, it could be comedy worth sinking your teeth into. — Joe Friedrich

Presidential Debate
9 pm/ET ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CNBC, CNN, FOX NEWS and MSNBC
If the polls are to be believed, this final meeting of the major presidential candidates might be Republican John McCain's last chance to overtake Democrat Barack Obama before next month's election. It's unlikely those polls will tilt in McCain's favor unless a figurative bombshell drops during tonight's debate at Hofstra University in New York. Since voters traditionally take out their wrath at the political party in charge during tough economic times — and with pocketbook issues sure to dominate tonight's proceedings — it doesn't look good for the Republican, "maverick" or not. Bob Schieffer of CBS News is the moderator. — Jeff Gemmill
