Is Dancing with the Stars trying to keep it all in the Palin family?
After Bristol Palin's much-talked-about and improbable run to the Season 11 finale, ABC is eyeing her dad, Todd, for next season, according to E! Online.

"They want him big time. They'd love Sarah, but they don't think that will ever happen, so why not go for the dad," a source told the site, adding that producers think he'd be "ratings gold."

This would be the second time the show has pursued Todd. According to his wife, producers originally wanted Todd on Season 11, but he turned it down, prompting them to ask Bristol."I think that would have been cool to see, too," Sarah Palin said in October. "But here Bristol is, out of her comfort zone, doing something all new."

Bristol aside, has Dancing jumped the shark?

If Todd were to join next season, he may not be the only contestant with a political tie-in. Meghan McCain, the daughter of Sarah's 2008 running mate John McCain, and Eliot Spitzer, the disgraced former governor of New York and current CNN talk show host, are also on producers' wish list, the source told E!ABC does not comment on casting rumors.Season 12 of Dancing will premiere in March.Who do you think should hit the ballroom next season?
