Tim Tebow has signed a multiyear deal to be a football analyst for ESPN's new SEC Network, according to ESPN.com.

Tebow will serve as an analyst on SEC Nation, the traveling football pregame show that heads to different SEC campuses each week. The show will debut on Aug. 28 ahead of the Texas A&M vs. South Carolina game. Tebow will make his debut on ESPN during pregame coverage of the Vizio BCS National Championship.

Tim Tebow released by New England Patriots

"I am so excited that ESPN has given me this incredible opportunity," Tebow said in a statement. "When I was 6 years old, I fell in love with the game of football, and while I continue to pursue my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, this is an amazing opportunity to be part of the unparalleled passion of college football and the SEC."

Tebow's role with ESPN will not preclude him from pursuing opportunities in the NFL. He has previously played for the New York Jets, Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots, which released the 2007 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback in August.
