The Russo Brothers are stepping outside of the Marvel universe to develop a series based on The Warriorsfor Hulu, Deadline reports.

The exceptionally busy Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed Captain America: Civil War and are directing the next two Avengers movies, will produce an hourlong series based on the 1979 cult classic film The Warriors for Hulu in conjunction with Paramount TV. No director or stars are attached yet.

The Warriors is a snapshot of bleak, decrepit '70s New York City. It tells the story of a street gang fighting their way back to their home turf of Coney Island after being framed for the murder of a powerful gang leader at a summit in the Bronx. Their rival gangs include colorful characters like the Baseball Furies (who sport baseball jerseys and painted faces) and the Hi-hats, a gang of villainous mimes. The film was directed by Walter Hill and based on a novel by Sol Yurick.
