Can Alison handle a version of her old self?

There's a Hotchkiss on the loose on The Perfectinists! After Alison (Sasha Pieterse) worked so hard to find Taylor (Hayley Erin) and prove she was alive, she lost her almost as soon as she found her. After a throwdown in the woods that caused Alison to miss Mona's (Janel Parrish) warning not to bring Taylor back into town, Alison convinced the runaway to return to BHU.

Alison may have thought some one-on-one time with the girl everyone says she reminds them of would be helpful, but it turns out Taylor didn't have the same idea. The moment Alison's back was turned, Taylor disappeared, leaving us with way more questions than we had before. Did Taylor just bail in fear that Alison would inform the Hotchkiss family that she was still alive? Or did someone catch her return to town on Beacon Guard and swoop in to take her?

Luckily, TV Guide got a chance to talk to Hayley Erin about her disappearing act and whether those Alison similarities are a good thing or a bad thing.

When you first read this script, did you think Taylor had run away or did you think she had been kidnapped?
Hayley Erin:
I never presume to know or think I know anything going on with this show. My first thought was, "Oh, Taylor got out of there." I almost think that every time I think something is going to happen to not think that's what's going to happen because I thought it was going to happen.

Alison is being really pushy about Taylor forgiving Claire. Is that something that Taylor actually wants or should we continue to be wary of Mother Hotchkiss?
Erin:
It's always going to be a difficult relationship because no matter what you've gone through with a parent, they're still your parent. There's definitely a part of her that thinks, "She's my mom!" But we haven't even begun to grasp or understand the water that's under the bridge there yet. Only time will tell!

This episode spent a lot of time emphasizing how alike Taylor and Alison are. Does that mean she's like Alison when we first met her in Pretty Little Liars, or is she more like Alison now?
Erin:
She's definitely more like early seasons Alison, which I think is really cool, because it shows just how much Alison has grown. [Alison] has been mentoring the Perfectionists and she has someone else to mentor now. Thank goodness she's so good at it.

Now that Taylor is on the run, or at least out of Alison's grasp, is there a chance Taylor is going to run into any of the other Perfectionists who think she's dead?
Erin:
Anything can happen here! Once you're off the radar, you can get yourself into a lot of trouble in Beacon Heights. I think Taylor will be in for a lot of trouble next week.

What excites you about not having to shoot every scene in the woods now that Taylor has been found?
Erin:
I kind of liked shooting out in the woods. That's one of the great things about getting to shoot up in Portland. We did a really great job of using the natural resources. There was nothing like showing up for my first day in a national park, in that beautiful clearing. If anything, I am glad that when we do get to shoot on the stage there aren't going to be any helicopters. That's the one saving grace.

What are you most excited for fans to see coming up this season?
Erin: I'm really excited for fans to get to know Taylor. I had such a great time getting to know her. Every script I got, I would race through it just trying to get any detail that I could. She's so dynamic and interesting. She's got a lot going on, so I'm excited for fans to really dig into her different layers. She's like an onion.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Freeform.
