Make It So: A Revival of The Nanny Might Be Headed Your Way

Break out your crop tops and graphic mini skirts, there might be a revival of The Nannyheaded your way in the near future. Fran Drescher revealed that she's in talks for a potential reboot of the beloved '90s sitcom.

"We're talking about it. Peter [Marc Jacob] and I are talking about it," Drescher teased to ET. Jacob co-created the series alongside Drescher, so having him on board is a pretty good sign that it might actually be happening.

The actress also dropped some not-so-subtle hints about an exciting project that she says fans will be very pleased about. "We're working on a very big project. It's going to be very exciting for the fans, but I'm not at liberty to announce it yet. But it's gonna be big," she added. Let's hope that big project she's referring to ends up being a reboot of The Nanny. It's what we deserve.

Loosely based on Drescher's life, the series followed a down-on-her-luck makeup saleswoman who lands a job as a nanny for an affluent family. It ran for six seasons, from 1993-1999, on CBS and became a pop culture staple due to Drescher's distinct nasally voice and bold fashion, which included graphic skirts and colorful crop tops.

Alongside Drescher, the series also starred Charles Shaughnessy as Mr. Sheffield, Fran's boss and eventual husband; Daniel Davis as Niles, Sheffield's sharp-tongued butler; and Lauren Lane as C.C. Babcock, Sheffield's business partner who pined for the wealthy theater producer throughout the show's six-year run.

With a possible revival of the series in early talks, Drescher gave an update on where the nanny-turned-housewife might be today.

"[Fran Fine] would've maybe gotten involved in more things [that] Fran Drescher is involved with. All kinds of things from environmental issues, to health, to civil liberties, that's what I think Fran would be doing now-- opening her big Queens mouth for the greater good," she added.
