The far-reaching world of Star Wars will expand once more this November when the live-action series The Mandalorian launches on Disney+, Disney's new streaming service. On Thursday, executive producer and showrunner Jon Favreau revealed the first trailer for the series to a packed house at D23 Expo 2019 in Anaheim, California.

The trailer introduces us to Pedro Pascal's eponymous character, a single gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. The show is set roughly five years after the end of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, but although the Empire has been defeated, it's not gone.

Everything We Know So Far About Disney+, Disney's Streaming Service

Joining Pascal in the series are Gina Carano and Carl Weathers, who play Cara Dune and Greef, respectively. Cara is an ex-Rebel Shock Trooper who's struggling to readjust to normal life and is described as being a bit of a loner. Greef, meanwhile, is the head of the bounty hunter's guild, which leads him right to Pascal's character.

In addition to Favreau, the series was executive-produced by Dave Filoni, who has worked on animated Star Wars projects like Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. He also served as a director on the series, which saw some big names like Bryce Dallas Howard and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) step behind the camera too.

Disney+ launches on Nov. 12. Find out what else is coming to the new streaming service.
