The Good Doctor Promotes Jasika Nicole to Series Regular

Shaun's (Freddie Highmore) latest love interest is sticking around on The Good Doctor.

Jasika Nicole, who plays pathologist Dr. Carly Lever on the ABC medical drama, has been bumped up to series regular for the upcoming third season, TVLine reports. The former Fringeand Undergroundactress recurred in six episodes of Season 2, and her character played a pivotal role in the season finale, which ended with Shaun asking her out to dinner.

Nicole isn't the only casting shakeup on the drama. TVLine also reports that original series regular Tamlyn Tomita, who plays Allegra Aoki, will recur on the series moving forward.

The Good Doctor Season 3 premieres Monday, Sept. 23 at 10/9c on ABC.
