The Four will have a second battle for stardom.

Fox announced that the singing competition has been renewed for a second season. It will premiere later this summer.

The series pits ambitious young singers against The Four, a pre-established panel of powerhouse vocalists. If the challenging contestant can beat one of The Four in a live-audience voted sing-off, they take that singer's seat. At the end of the competition, the performers left in the chairs battle it out for the grand prize of working with the show's esteemed judges and an iHeart Radio contract.

The Four: Charlie Walk Cut From Finale After Sexual Misconduct Allegations

The Four is "the most social new show of the season" according to the network and brought in its highest 18-49 ratings during the penultimate episode last week. The Season 1 finale airs Thursday night.

The show's inaugural season hasn't been without controversy though. Record executive Charlie Walk, who sat at the judges' table with Sean "Diddy" Combs, Meghan Trainor and DJ Khaled, was removed from the show's season finale after allegations of sexual misconduct. An investigation into Walk's behavior is still ongoing.

The Four: Battle for Stardom's Season 1 finale airs Thursday, Feb. 8 at 8/7c.
