This First Look at The Conners Shows It's Roseanne Minus Roseanne

If you were wondering what The Conners -- the spin-off of Roseanne without Roseanne Barr, who was fired over a racist tweet -- would be without its matriarch, this photo from the set has your answer: it'll be pretty much the same, just without Roseanne.

The photo, released by ABC on Friday, is the first look we've gotten of the new show. It shows the cast going over the script on the first day of production. They're sitting around the kitchen table in the Conner house, the show's most important location (the opening credits of Roseanne are set around the kitchen table). It's the same set and the same actors, including Sara Gilbert, Michael Fishman, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson and Emma Kenney.

John Goodman said that Roseanne will be killed off, but it looks aside from that one huge change it looks like The Conners will be pretty much the same as Roseanne, down to the art on the walls.

The Conners premieres Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 8/7c on ABC.
