The Big Bang Theory's Finale Will Have Even More Death and Nudity Than Game of Thrones

Two of TV's biggest shows will be ending within a few days of each other this week. Millions of people will watch Game of Thrones' championship episode on Sunday, but before that, millions of people will watchThe Big Bang Theory's final experiment on Thursday. And Big Bang Theory executive producers Steve Holland (current showrunner) and Steven Molaro (former showrunner who's still involved) are taking steps to make sure their show's swan song will be on the same grand scale as Thrones.

"I think they will have more deaths," Holland joked to TV Guide when asked who would have a bigger finale. "That's my prediction, but only barely."

"But we've decided to add four dragons to the Big Bang finale just to keep things even," Molaro added. "And a shocking amount of nudity."

Seriously, though, The Big Bang Theory's series finale will be a big episode, a two-parter that will find the gang taking a big trip together as everyone finds out important things about themselves and each other. The second episode is called "The Stockholm Syndrome," and Stockholm is the city where the Nobel Prize gets awarded, and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) are in contention for a Nobel Prize for physics, so you can maybe put together some of what happens. Molaro and Holland won't go as to far as to say they're confident that fans will be satisfied by the finale, but they hope they will be.

"I think a lot of people will have a lot of feelings," Molaro said. "All we can do is write something that we feel good about and hope people like it, but I think 'confident' is a strong word that I would not use for us."

"[Co-creator] Chuck [Lorre], who has been through more finales than us, sort of warned us early on, he's like 'you can't make everyone happy with this,'" Holland added. "And in a good way, people have been so invested in these characters over 12 years that I think a lot of them have written their own endings in their heads, and everyone is probably not going to get the ending that they have in their head. But I feel really proud of the finale that we've written. I like to think of us as the first level of fans of these characters, and I'm really happy with what we did. So hopefully other people will be as well."

A finale that satisfies fans seems much more likely to happen on The Big Bang Theory than Game of Thrones right now, to be honest.

The Big Bang Theory's series finale airs Thursday at 8/7c on CBS. The show is available to stream on CBS All Access.
